Our History
The family-run boutique Rusty Parrot first opened its doors in 1990, and quickly garnered acclaim as one of the top luxury hotels in the world. Our accolades include 19 consecutive years of AAA Four-Diamond Rating, Conde Nast Traveler’s Top 50 Best Places to Ski & Stay and Top 30 Best Small Resorts in the US, Travel + Leisure’s Best Ski Hotels, World’s Best Awards, and Top 500 Hotels Worldwide. As the most highly-awarded accommodations in Jackson Hole, the Rusty Parrot has enjoyed a legacy of excellence.
In 2019, a devastating fire inflicted extensive damage to the original log structure of the hotel. Embracing the spirit of the West — defined by grit and grace — we were determined not only to build back, but to seize the opportunity to expand on the unique amenities and relaxed, luxurious atmosphere that we had cultivated. As we reopen our doors and welcome guests again, we’re delighted to share the ways in which we’ve further refined our hospitality, onsite spa, and award-winning restaurant.

Guests can unwind at The Perch, savor drinks at the Wild Sage Bar, observe wildlife from the dedicated viewing deck, delve into a good book in the cozy library, or flex their mental muscle at the chess table. You could easily spend the evening on the terrace soaking in the hot tub under the stars and telling stories around the firepit.
A New Chapter
Though we’ve been cultivating bespoke experiences for guests for decades, the rebuild of our hotel both honors our heritage and embraces an exciting future. We’ve held tight to our intimate scale, our mountain luxury style, and our impeccable attention to detail, and we’ve woven in more sophisticated amenities and modern touches.
Our newly-expanded rooms include two suites, 22 King Fireplace rooms, 11 Queen rooms, and 5 King rooms. Each room is thoughtfully appointed; inspired by the spirit of the West, infused with our unique rustic sophistication. Every room features plentiful natural light, beautiful views, regionally-sourced artwork, luxury finishes, top-caliber linens, spa-quality bathrooms, and Amouage products. State-of-the-art technology and entertainment systems dovetail to add an extra layer of comfort and convenience.
We are a new lodge with the soul of the original Rusty Parrot. The same intuitive service, attention to detail and unparalleled local knowledge are still here but with every modern convenience you can think of and maybe a few you haven’t.
