The ski day may end when the mountain closes, but a whole new kind of fun starts when the boots come off. Après-ski (French for “after the ski”) is when mountain days turn into memorable nights.
Traditionally, après-ski means sipping a craft cocktail by a roaring fire or gathering with friends in a lively saloon. But there are other ways to celebrate the end of the ski day; some prefer to unwind with a yoga session or muscle-soothing spa treatment. Luckily, Jackson Hole offers an après-ski scene as dynamic and multifaceted as its terrain. From classic Western bars to wellness experiences designed for recovery, here are a few of our favorite spots to end the day and prepare for the next.
Traditional Après-Ski Options
Wild Sage at the Rusty Parrot Lodge
For a tastefully refined après-ski experience, the Wild Sage Bar offers seasonally inspired bites, cocktails and zero proof delights. Bridging the gap between traditional and wellness oriented Après options is the popular Killer Bee Sting zero proof drink whose carrot turmeric shrub, ginger, honey and lemon help boost the immune system. Bites include House Made Focaccia, Duck Poutine, a Nest of Local Mushrooms, the Crispy Piggy Burger, and Vegetable Fried Rice, among other tasty options.
Guests can enjoy a drink in the cozy library, engage in a game of chess or unwind with a book. Alternatively, the terrace provides a warm setting around the fire pit, while the Wildlife Deck and the Perch offer inviting spaces to enjoy Jackson from above.
The Mangy Moose
Established in 1967, the Mangy Moose in Teton Village has become synonymous with Jackson Hole’s après-ski culture. Its rustic ambiance, adorned with eclectic antiques and memorabilia, offers a nostalgic journey into the area’s rich history. The saloon has a reputation as a premier live music venue and has hosted legendary artists like Kris Kristofferson and Hozier. Patrons can enjoy signature margaritas, cold beers, and a mountain of nachos in a lively atmosphere that captures the spirit of the original wild ski culture of the ’70s and ’80s.
Million Dollar Cowboy Bar
Located in downtown Jackson, the Million Dollar Cowboy Bar is an iconic establishment known for its distinctive Western décor, including saddle bar stools and genuine cowboy memorabilia. With a history spanning over 75 years, it has been a gathering place for cowboys, locals, and visitors alike. The bar offers live country music, dancing, and a selection of classic cocktails, providing an authentic Western après-ski experience.
Snake River Grill
The Snake River Grill is primarily a fine-dining restaurant known for its excellent cuisine, but its intimate bar area welcomes guests for drinks-only service later in the evening, offering a relaxed spot to enjoy expertly crafted cocktails and a well-curated wine list. Guests can enjoy drinks at the Snake River Grill without reservations.
Local Restaurant & Bar
This establishment provides a vibrant bar scene with a variety of craft cocktails and local brews. Walk-ins are welcome, as bar seating is first come, first served. They offer a happy hour from 3:00 to 6:00 with discounted drinks and appetizers.
The Kitchen
With a modern ambiance, The Kitchen offers a selection of creative cocktails. The bar area is open to walk-in guests, and they feature a happy hour from 5:30 to 6:30 with special pricing on drinks and half-off snacks and raw bar items.
Trio – An American Bistro
Trio primarily offers a sit-down dining experience, known for its creative, seasonally inspired dishes. While the cozy bar area can accommodate guests looking to enjoy drinks without dining, space is limited due to the restaurant’s small size and high demand. It’s best to call ahead to check availability for bar-only seating. Trio does not offer a happy hour, making it more of a destination for a full dining experience than a casual drink spot.
Bin22
A unique combination of wine shop, bar, and tapas restaurant, you won’t need a reservation to enjoy drinks at Bin22—in fact, reservations are not accepted. They offer a happy hour from 4:00 to 6:00 featuring discounted wines and small plates.
Wellness-Focused Après-Ski Options
Not every après-ski needs to involve music and lively bars—sometimes the best way to end a session on the slopes is by giving your body the care it deserves. For those seeking a quiet close to the day, wellness-focused après-ski options offer the perfect balance of relaxation and recovery. Stretch out tired muscles with a rejuvenating yoga session, melt away the day’s effort with a therapeutic massage, or soak under the stars in a steamy outdoor hot tub. Whether you’re preparing for another powder day or simply savoring the mountain air, these restorative experiences will leave you feeling refreshed, relaxed, and ready for whatever comes next.
Body Sage Spa at the Rusty Parrot Lodge
The Body Sage Spa provides a sanctuary for recovery and relaxation, offering various massages designed to soothe sore muscles and expedite recovery, preparing guests for another day of skiing. The Next Level Après provides guests with everything they need to recover, including a stretching session, a warm herbal compress, and a targeted massage.
A soak in the outdoor hot tub further alleviates muscle tension, before retiring to your room in the Rusty Parrot, where the cozy beds with luxurious Italian linens ensure a deep and restful sleep.
Home Yoga Studio
Home Yoga Studio offers a diverse range of classes for all levels, including Vinyasa, Hatha, and Restorative Yoga with Hot Stones. Their offerings focus on mindful movement, breath work, and muscle recovery, making it ideal for après-ski relaxation and wellness. New student specials and flexible membership options are available, as well as drop-in classes for visitors.
Inversion Yoga
Inversion Yoga offers a diverse range of classes blending strength, flexibility, and mindfulness. Their offerings include both hot and room temperature yoga sessions, along with strength-building HIIT and Barre classes. For deeper relaxation, they provide meditation sessions. Each class caters to all levels, promoting physical fitness and mental well-being.
