"Relaxing at the Rusty Parrot"

This is a lovely small hotel about two blocks from the town square. Easy walking distance to shops, galleries and restaurants.

The hotel staff is very gracious. We received a phone call about six weeks from one of the Concierges before our visit asking if they could make any reservations for us or arrange anything special that we wanted.

The restaurant in-house is rated 4-stars. It was a little to trendy a menu for our tastes, but served lovely breakfasts which are not included in your room, but good.

There is a spa, but we didn’t use any of the options. Our favorite place in the hotel was the Library on the third floor and the outdoor deck (complete with hot tub and fire pits for cool evenings) that adjoins it. There are many different genres of books, a fireplace, a leather couch and two chairs, and two oversized chairs for just kicking back and relaxing. There was fresh coffee 24/7 and hot water for tea as well. Most afternoons, there were also fresh cookies.

The only downside to this lovely retreat was that it was on the third floor; there is no elevator; and I have arthritis in both knees, making the trek a little more difficult. But it was worth it.

The rooms are large with dimable lighting throughout. In floor heating certainly helps on cold mornings and evenings. The bathrooms have L’Occitaine toiletries and lovely large towels.

We would definitely return to this facility.
