Dining ~ Restaurant in Jackson Hole ~ Wild Sage
Chosen a “Top Mountain Restaurant” by Mountain Living magazine (January/February 2008), which praised its “cozy ambience and over-the-top food,” the Rusty Parrot Lodge’s award-winning Wild Sage restaurant provides an intimate and relaxing experience of fine Jackson Hole cuisine.
From its beginning, the Rusty Parrot has been known for its fabulous chef-prepared breakfasts. Those gourmet day-starters attracted attention that eventually prompted Rusty Parrot owner Ron Harrison to expand the lodge’s food offerings with the opening of the Wild Sage restaurant in 2001. Breakfasts remain a tasty draw for the restaurant, while Executive Chef Matthew Love’s imaginative fresh regional menu served at dinner seven nights a week has made the Wild Sage a favorite with locals as well, including the occasional Jackson Hole celebrity.
Dinner in the Wild Sage’s intimate 26-seat gathering room is served in full view of an exhibition-style kitchen, with a cozy wood fire often burning in the river rock fireplace. Chef Love’s creative American offerings feature organically grown produce, local game and meats, sustainable fish and seafood, and freshly-prepared desserts. The restaurant offers an extensive wine list, carefully chosen to complement menu selections.
Honored with the prestigious AAA Four Diamond award since 2004, the Wild Sage has been featured in media including The Food Network, The New York Times, Elle Décor, Cowboys and Indians magazine and The Chicago Sun Times, and is the subject of a soon-to-be published cookbook.
