Nordic and Skate Skiing
Want to cruise around on your cross country or skate skis? Never fear, for the area is home to a large variety of trails – over 37 miles of them, actually! Some take you through snow covered meadows, some wind among the aspen groves, and some give you a tour of the surrounding forests full of beautiful Lodgepole Pine and Western Spruce trees.
If you have plans and can only spare a couple of hours, thank the Jackson Parks and Recreation Department and Jackson Hole Community Pathways for maintaining six tracks that twist and turn through the valley itself (snow conditions permitting), including a popular 6 mile loop in Cache Creek. Due to their efforts, you can steal away for a couple of hours of Nordic bliss and still have the rest of the day to devote to other things. Teton Pines golf course transforms itself in winter to a tracked cross country center with groomed trails.
Cross country and skate skiing in the Jackson Hole area is certain to be a venture you won’t soon forget.
