Fly Fishing Jackson Hole Wyoming
Snake River Flyfishing WY

fishingDuring your fishing trip enjoy some of the best trout and fly fishing in the Western United States. Both Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks are home to blue ribbon streams and alpine lakes, and the Jackson valley itself includes a few family-friendly options that allow fishing with bait.

The Snake River is the most prominent and popular river in the region. It originates in Yellowstone and flows south through the heart of Jackson Hole. The river boasts its own species of cutthroat trout and spawns six major tributaries in the Jackson area, including Salt River, Greys River, Hoback River, Gros Ventre River, Buffalo Fork, and Pacific Creek. Fly fishing is the most popular choice for anglers, and the Snake River Cutthroats’ fondness for hitting dry flies keeps the fishermen coming back for more.

fishingYellowstone River also holds a native species of cutthroat within its banks. The park provides easy access to much of its waters as well as prominent stretches of the Firehole, Madison and Lamar Rivers. The access points are designed to enable anglers from every walk of life to enjoy the peace and tranquility inherent in a day of reeling them in.

If you’re more the type that doesn’t like anything with a current, the region is home to numerous lakes that provide excellent opportunities to catch grayling and trout. Yellowstone and Jackson lakes are the most popular and contain the best chance of catching a trophy fish. Jenny Lake, Shoshone Lake, Lewis Lake, Leigh Lake, and String Lake are smaller waters in beautiful settings that offer high country fishing at its best.

Please be sure and check the fishing regulations for a particular river or lake before heading out for the day. Many of them have “catch and release” and “flies and lures only” sections. It’s a good way to ensure that we’ll have plenty of good fishing ready for you on your next trip to Jackson, Wyoming. Let our concierge staff make all your arrangements in advance to insure the best experience.
