Jackson Hole Film Festival

Sundance and Cannes aren’t the only hosts of world-class film festivals. Each summer in early June, the Jackson Hole Film Festival gains greater international recognition for its unique programs and the number and variety of the independent filmmakers it attracts. Of course, the breathtaking setting at the foot of the Grand Tetons doesn’t hurt – everyone can enjoy the spectacular surroundings between screenings.

In June 2006, the festival showcased approximately 80 films over 5 days. They were divided and evaluated over 7 different and competitive categories. The event has already established some very coveted awards, including the Rosemount Diamond Award, for which the recipient receives an abundance of international acclaim and a check for $10,000!

The amount of summer activities in and around Jackson Hole, Wyoming, makes it the perfect venue for an event of this magnitude. Aside from enjoying a myriad of excellent cinema, patrons of the festival can indulge in mountain biking, climbing, hiking, camping, fishing, rafting, golfing, and horseback riding. The nightlife includes several local hotspots as well as some themed parties planned and executed by festival staff.
