Escape Into Winter

The wonder of winter in Jackson Hole is the stuff legends are made of.  The Rusty Parrot Lodge has put together a suggested package that will allow you a sampling of the adventure.

The first day starts with a half-day tour, accompanied by a Wildlife Expeditions biologist, to view wildlife in their winter habitat.  Lunch is at The National Museum of Wildlife Art with views overlooking thousands of head of elk in the National Elk Refuge. After viewing one of the world’s finest wildlife art collections at the museum, the day will conclude with a sleigh ride into the herd of elk on the National Elk Refuge.  You will be within feet of one of the Rocky Mountains' proudest animals.

On the second day you will start with a snowmobile tour in the Gros Ventre Mountain area.  This is an opportunity to spot elk, deer, moose, coyote, bighorn sheep and bald eagles.  This protected winter range is only open to snowmobiles during the winter months.

On the four-night package, in addition to the above, take a half-day dogsled tour  including lunch along the trail. Transportation to and from the tour, located in the Bridger-Teton National Forest, a 48-mile journey through Grand Teton National Park, is included.

On the five-night package, in addition to the above, journey for a full day by snowcoach to the Old Faithful geyser basin in Yellowstone National Park. Enjoy the scenery in comfort, chauffeured by an experienced, knowledgeable guide, making several stops along the way for wildlife viewing and photography. Breakfast, restaurant lunch and refreshments are included. (Available until March 15, 2014 due to Yellowstone road closings).

During your stay, spend the evening in the spa with an optional Hot Stones Massage or Sports Recovery Package.  As well as enjoy a chef prepared breakfast each morning and one dinner for two in the four diamond Wild Sage restaurant.
